I used to work for this company, XPW (Xtreme Professional Wrestling), back in the “day”. They ran shows mostly out of Southern California and was owned by a real prick. Those days are over and the nice people that helped that prick run his company are now in control with a bigger and better boss. We had the privilege of attending the 10th anniversary show, with full access passes, on Saturday August 22nd. Thus, I brought my camera and got some great shots and even better video. Check out the gallery below featuring some great stills from the main event deathmatch featuring Angel and Supreme.

A special guest was in attendance supporting his sponsored wrestler Luke Hawx, Oscar-award winning hip-hop artist D.J. Paul of the Three 6 Mafia. I got a few blurry pics of him as well, I didn’t want to bother the man and his family like the fucking paparazzi.

Photo Blog: A Tour of the Illadelph Glass Store & Exhibit in Los Angeles

There’s one thing that can be said for the Illadelph store in Los Angeles, awinspiring. Calling it a store doesn’t even give it the right credit. It’s more of a glass art exhibit featuring smoking devices. You’ll see things that look nothing like your father’s wooden pipe, or your friend’s metal bubbler.

Upon enterance, there’s a good chance you’ll be greeted by this lovable puppy. He’s apartently very camera-friendly and let me take this shot. [If you're afraid of dogs, he's very obedient so don't worry ]

Below you’ll see a tour of the store in general, followed by close-ups of the glass pieces themselves.

This glass piece below is very special. His name is Woody and he rides on a hell-wagon of death. Woody might look like an abstract piece of art, but he too can be smoked from. The body of the car is on shocks and the engine filled with water, so when you inhale the car rumbles mimicking a real engine. You don’t want to begin to talk about how much something like this would cost a consumer. It’s something we should all look at in awe until a rich yuppy swoops it up and breaks it at his coke party (no offense to yuppies).

And finally, here are the bulk of the photos. These range from simple beaker water pipes, to sandblasted green Philadelphia Eagles and black/gold Pittsburgh Steelers perculated bong. All hand blown with custom looks. It seems as though no 2 pieces are the same. Check out the variety available at Illadelph below.

Photo Blog: What remains of the Eat-A-Pita restaurant, Fairfax Ave.

If you live anywhere near the Hasidic and Russian Fairfax district, or have spent any time down there, you may have encountered the Eat-a-Pita shack. Driving by it, you wouldn’t think much of the place. It’s a super yellow and orange single story building with benches and a parking lot. Nothing special, nothing out of the ordinary.

But being a local and growing up in this neighborhood, the Eat-a-Pita spot was almost a landmark. The dirt that now lays in its spot resembles someone tearing a piece of my childhood memories. I know, it’s only f’n food. As a kid, sitting in the back of your parents car driving up and down Fairfax Ave. and seeing this same spot near Canter’s Deli, you can’t help but have a special spot for this place in your heart.

We don’t have any pics of their food, we got there too late. It was all just quick-sinking mud that stained my Vans, similar to walking through shit to see a dead loved one. Now that it’s over, I’m glad to order some RoRo’s Chicken and feed my Arabic food needs. What a great world, a Jew eating Arabic food without getting stones thrown his direction.

This “Hustle Harder” graffiti set is what remains here. The art is actually very well done and features your favorite beverage-endorsing character, the Kool-Aid Man. Of course it may actually be his evil brother selling that nasty grape-flavored alternative. Video: Car on Fire on the 170 Freeway in North Hollywood

I was driving on the 170 Eastbound Freeway around 4pm on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 when I saw a huge gray cloud of smoke. Pulling up I knew it had to be a car on fire. It was a Chrysler 300, probably a 2001 model. I grabbed my iPhone and started to record video as I pulled up. I knew someone would like to see a car on fire.

Exclusive iPhone footage of a Chrysler 300 on fire on the 170 freeway in Los Angeles, CA. It was before the 101 Hollywood Fwy and 134 Ventura Fwy split.
